“Coleman’s prose evokes both the majesty and menace of the desert, and all this makes for an unforgettable finale that rewards every thread laid down in Desert Brave.” –5-STAR Readers’ Favorite
Scarred by man and beast, Kira Fontaine has survived the Arabian desert and continues to search for a way back to America. But she can’t stop thinking about Sheik Jalil, the man who didn’t know she existed until he rescued her from Sheik Qadir and claimed her father’s medallion as his own. Stolen from Jalil’s father the day he was murdered, the medallion holds the secret to Jalil’s family legacy. Consumed with finding his father’s killer, Jalil is convinced that Kira holds the key.
Unaware of Jalil’s growing interest, Kira struggles with how to get home and she will do anything to protect her biggest secret—the hidden valley where she discovered the ruins of a forgotten people and a lost herd of horses led by a mythical golden stallion.
Will Kira return to the desert of her birth, or will she stay and help Jalil solve his greatest mystery?
Join Kira and Jalil as they fight for their lives, each other, and everything they hold dear in the stunning conclusion of Desert Brave.
That's all I can say to describe this book. Just wow. I've always loved horses, and the description made me think Hidalgo, but from the first chapter, I was hooked. I couldn't stop and I absolutely adored the series. A touch of magic, a pinch of romance, and a whole load of fascinating loveable(and hateable) characters. This is the kind of series you only find every once in a while and the ones you hold onto and treasure.
Thank you , Gin Coleman, for writing such an excellent series of books. I got so excited reading Desert Brave I had to jump right in and read Desert Bold. Both books took me out of this cold WA state, into a land of heat and different views of life. The story of the love of, very special, horses, and the growing love and trials of their humans, was well worth the loss of sleep. Keep up the great writing!
Such a Great story. It has everything you need to enjoy from love, adventure, close calls and bad guys. So VERY hard to put down once you start you'll be so intrigued you'll think of nothing else but what's going to happen next. Well worth the read and loved every minute just hated it coming to the end.
Totally enjoyed reading both books and cannot wait for the next one. These remind me of a book I read since I was in elementary school called King of the Wind, set in Arabia, regarding a young boy and a wild stallion with many adventures. Big thumbs up!
